The folks at Namco Bandai JP were teasing an “all star battle” game a couple of days ago, and people were speculating it being this (unsurprisingly) Namco Super Smash Bros. type of game featuring — what else? — Namco characters and such.
Well what do you know: it’s actually a new JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting game for the PlayStation 3! Better yet — it’s being developed by CyberConnect 2, a.k.a. the anime-cel-shading wizards! You know, the Ultimate Ninja Storm peeps. Wow!
And it doesn’t stop from there: they also announced a new TV series that’ll debut later this year (October 2012 if I’m not mistaken). Sweet Jesus, that’s “megaton” right there!
Now, I’m not exactly a fan of the franchise. No sir. BUT I can safely say that I’ve played and owned the Capcom fighting game that came out eons ago, and I really enjoyed it as much as Vampire Savior and the rest of the underrated Capcom fighters. Plus I caught some episodes too of the OVA, which were pretty rad now that I think about it.
This… is going to be awesome! Mark my words. Of course, it’s only been announced for Japan… *fingers crossed*
