Happy 40th Birthday, (game composer) Yasunori Mitsuda!

Happy 40th to the man responsible for giving Crono, Marle, Lucca, Frog, Robo, Ayla, and Magus some rad tunes, as well as the rest of the ‘Trigger family. Well OK, partially, since Final Fantasy maestro Nobuo Uematsu was also involved in composing the entire score of CT.

Still, the man was solely responsible for the Chrono Cross and Xenogears albums; two of the best video game OSTs of the freakin’ millennium. In short: Mitsuda-san’s a legend. It’s just pretty sad though that we haven’t heard anything yet about the fabled Chrono Cross arranged album, or any of his upcoming projects. Odd.

Bah, whatever. Here’s something from the man… a suite that cements him as a true video game icon:
