And I’m not just saying that because it’s a Grasshopper Manufacture project with its CEO, Goichi Suda (Suda 51), being listed as the game’s creative director. Nah, that’s just one of the many-or-not-so-many reasons why this game will (at least) kick ass. But the real reason why this game will be special — a.k.a. the game’s secret weapon — is the writer: James Gunn.
Both Slither and SUPER are such fun movies; you guys should at least try to track down some copies — provided you haven’t seen them yet of course — and host a viewing with your ‘kadas and horror-comedy lovers. They are highly recommended, especially if you’re a fan of Evil Dead and its cousins. OK, SUPER technically belongs to a diff genre, but you get the idea.
Basically, the guy — you know, James Gunn — really knows how to come up with these zany yet interesting and entertaining scenarios. So I’m pretty sure there’s a solid chance Lolli’s story, which is ridiculous already as you can see, will be at least significant-ish in that regard oppose to… well, No More Heroes was actually fucking cool even though I never finished the games fully (SHAME ON YOU G!), so I’m going to go with Shadows of the Damned because that ending was indeed fucked. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I’d rather see some “sense” I guess, and it’s nice that we are getting someone who is — I should say — perfect to be around with the ridiculous Grasshopper team.
Anyway, here’s the latest trailer which gives you an idea why I’m pretty excited:
True, I still don’t know if I’m willing enough to spend the full MSRP for it ala Shadows, so we’ll see. Something tells me though this will be another solid rental (again, like Shadows). Weird huh? Hey, call me cheap or whatever, but these are fucking hard times we are dealing with here mmkay?
